Playwright’s Night Out Junior offers staged readings of local unpublished playwrights by local youth. Each performance will be 20 minutes or less. This project aims to give students ages 12-18 an opportunity to be playwrights and get an idea of what writing a play is like. The outcome is to see their work directed and performed in front of a live audience.

Directors and Playwright meet-up: Monday, May 15 at 6 pm

Auditions for actors: Will be at Riverfront Playhouse on Tuesday, May 16 at 6 pm and Wednesday, May 17 at 6 pm

Rehearsals: May 22 through 25 from 6-8:30 pm, May 29 through June 1 from 6-8:30 pm

Performances will be at Riverfront Playhouse on Friday, June 2, and Saturday, June 3, at 7 pm, and Sunday, June 4, at 2 pm.

• The plays should be 20 minutes or less.

• All plays are for readers’ theater. Memorizing lines is not required.

• Cast should be less than five people and have minimal costuming, props, and locations.
