Playwright’s Night Out Junior offers staged readings of local unpublished playwrights. Each performance will be 15 minutes or less. The idea of this project is to give students ages 12-18 an opportunity to be playwrights and get an idea of what it’s like to write a play. The outcome is to see their work directed and performed in front of a live audience.

Directors meet-up: Sunday and Monday, April 17 & April 18, at 5 pm

Auditions for actors: Sunday and Monday, April 17 & April 18 at 6pm.

Rehearsals: April 19 through May 4, at 6 pm (Monday - Friday)

Dress rehearsal: Thursday, May 5 at 6 pm.

Performances will be Friday, May 6 at 7 pm, Saturday, May 7 at 2 pm, and Sunday, May 8 at 2 pm.

• Six to eight submissions will be chosen. If yours wasn’t chosen, please consider directing or acting in a play that was.
• The play should be a minimum of 10 minutes and not more than 15 minutes.
• No author will direct their own play.
• All plays are for readers’ theater only. Lines should not be memorized to allow for changes during rehearsals.
• Cast must be no more than 5 people.
• There will be no costuming or sets. Minimum props are okay.
