Calling All Playwrights!

Ok, creatives! Here's your chance to do something exciting and rewarding. Comedy, tragedy, drama, whatever you want. We will choose only six 20 minute shows, and you will be part of the rehearsal process. Send submissions by October 15 to Jennifer Levens.

Rules for Writers Playwrights Night Out

Thank you for making the effort to do something that could be exciting and rewarding. Comedy, tragedy, drama, whatever you want.
Only six 20 minute shows will be chosen and you will be part of the rehearsal process.
There may be more shows if some show take only ten minutes. Give us what you have.
YOU MAY BE PRODUCED!
1. No author will direct his or her own play.

2. All plays are 20 minutes or less.

3. All plays are for readers’ theater only. Lines should not be memorized
to allow for changes in the rehearsal stage of production.

4. Try to avoid frivolous cussing.

5. Try to keep your cast less than 20.

6. Please make at least one edit of you play before submission.

7. There will be no costuming.

8. Keep props to a minimum.

9. This is sort of a table read on stage. Listen for vocal nuance,
facial expression, body movement during rehearsals.

Calling All Directors!

There will be a meeting for those interested in directing on Monday, November 1 at 6pm.
Calling all directors! Playwright’s Night Out 2021 is on and we need directors. Have you always wanted to direct but were afraid to take the plunge?
We have six plays that need directors. Come along for the ride.

Calling All Actors!

Calling all actors! Playwright’s Night Out 2021 is on and we need directors. Have you always wanted to direct but were afraid to take the plunge?
We have six plays that need actors. Come along for the ride.
Auditions will be Saturday, November 6, and Sunday, November 7 at 6 pm.
A dress rehearsal will be Thursday, November 18, performances on November 19,20,21.
These are staged readings of local unpublished playwrights, and each performance will be 20 minutes or less. The whole idea of this project is to have prospective playwrights get an idea of what can be made more 'presentable' and that they learn to take the criticism (positive) of the actors and the directors so that the readings are the very best they can be without a full production. Please get in touch with Jennifer Levens for more information.
